Economia Inc., the largest publisher of economic and professional periodicals in the Czech Republic, is expanding its managerial team. The company is adding two publishers for its main publications. Adéla Pittsová became the publisher of the weekly magazine Respekt while in mid July Daniel Hort will assume the responsibilities of the publisher of Hospodářské noviny (Economic News daily) and Ekonom weekly.
Adéla Pittsová has been working in the media sector for the past 13 years. Between 1997 and 2004, she was affiliated with the publishing company, The Prague Business Journal. In 2004, Ms Pittsová joined Stanford publishing company, as the marketing director. In her capacity, she managed the marketing department and was responsible for distribution and regional conferences. She also developed a new distributing strategy and worked on optimising and increasing sales.
Daniel Hort has been affiliated with the media sector since 1995, gaining valuable experience in the newspaper Lidové noviny as well as in advertising agencies ISA and Ogilvy. In 2005, he joined the publishing company Ringier ČR, where he held managerial positions in the marketing and sales departments. During the past two years, he directed commercial activities of the company while holding the responsibilities of the marketing director of the weekly, daily, and on-line publications.
Adéla Pittsová and Daniel Hort will be responsible for both the short-term and long-term strategic development, operations, and sales efficiencies of the main publications of Economia publishing company.
