Economia, a.s., the largest publisher of economic and professional periodicals in the Czech Republic, implemented further changes to its organisational structure, following the recent introduction of two publishers for its main titles. Petr Ševčík becomes sales and marketing manager; Libor Vachtl assumes the responsibilities of production and distribution director.
During the past 17 years, Petr Ševčík has held managerial positions in many firms, where he specialised in sales and marketing. Between 1993 to 1998, he worked as the marketing director in Agency 7, in Ostrava. Afterwards, he managed Bonavia Trans advertising agency in Zlín, and between 1999 and 2003 he was affiliated with Oskar company. During the past 5 years, Petr Ševčík held managerial positions in Makro Cash & Carry. His latest responsibilities included managing the sales team and key customers from the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Libor Vachtl has been affiliated with Economia publishing company since August 2009, first as the marketing director and then sales, marketing, distribution, and production director. He has gained media experience holding managerial positions in various publishing companies. Among others, Libor Vachtl served as sales director in Mediaprint & Kapa company, distribution and promotion director in Stratosféra company, product manager in Bauer Media, and between 2002 and 2009 distribution and production director in the publishing company Axel Springer Praha.
Petr Babický, general director of Economia publishing company, commented on the managerial changes: “The changes in the organisational structure of the company, including introduction of the positions of the publishers, are the result of many discussions and careful deliberations. Our intention was to create a strong, managerial team, which will enable to accomplish ambitious goals specified by shareholders and board of directors. I believe that the changes in the organisational structure will lead to the increase in sales efficiency of our company”.
