Economia is the largest publisher of economic and B2B periodicals in the Czech Republic, operating also in Slovakia through its subsidiary company Ecopress. Economia was established in 1990 and between 1994 and August 2008 its majority shareholder was Verlagsgruppe Handelsblatt. Currently the majority share is owned by Respekt Media whose sole stockholder is investor Zdeněk Bakala. 

Economia ranks among top five largest publishing companies in the Czech Republic.

The founding member of the Czech Publishers Association, Economia is also a member of the European Association of Publishers of Economic Periodicals (European Business Press).

Its periodicals undergo audits by ABC ČR.

The reading rates of all Economia's publications are measured regularly in the scope of the Media Project as well as specialized research “decision makers” conducted by LAE ČR. Both types of research are carried out under the auspices of the Czech Publishers Association.
 
The company approved the Statement of Values and the Code of Ethics for Editors of Economia Publishing house.

The New Media Division

The New Media Division -is an integrated multimedia division of the Economia publishing company.  It operates the news server iHNed.cz, the economic server Ekonom.cz, the M&M.cz portal for advertising and marketing and the recruitment server KarieraWeb.cz. The division also provides an extensive documentation service, including the sale of news and photographs, and delivers news coverage to clients' websites.

The Conferences and Seminars Division

In cooperation with more than one hundred top experts, Economia prepares diversified conferences and seminars for professionals of various fields. Conferences and seminars are attended by top and middle management,  public and state officers, as well as the general public.  Notable participants  include ČEZ, ŠKODA AUTO, Siemens, T-Mobile Czech Republic, Telefónica O2 Czech Republic, Česká spořitelna, Komerční banka (KB), DHL Express, Alcatel-Lucent, České dráhy, Česká pojišťovna and others.

R MEDIA

R MEDIA, a subsidiary of Economia, is a public relations and media and promotion agency, offering a  comprehensive publishing service: turnkey client magazines prepared from inception to distribution and feedback. In addition, R MEDIA provides promotional campaigns in the press, on the radio, Internet and TV.
